Having friends over for brunch this weekend? You can keep the menu delicious and healthy with these 30 Healthy Brunch Recipes!
It’s officially brunch season! Is brunch season a thing? IDK, I just decided to declare it a thing. I had all intentions of getting this post up in time before Easter festivities, but then life got in the way.. and.. well… you know how that goes. Either way, this is still totally relevant. With Mother’s Day right around the corner, and Father’s Day quickly approaching – I’m sure you’ll either be hosting, or attending a brunch. I mean.. really, do we even need a holiday to have brunch? I personally think every Sunday should be accompanied by brunch – but that’s just me!It can be really hard to eat healthy and stay on track while you’re at a party or a social event. While I think it’s important to indulge from time to time, sometimes you might be put in a situation where you don’t necessarily want to indulge, but there aren’t any nutritious choices. I know sometimes I will go to happy hours, or weekend events and the selection is lacking. When you’re used to eating healthy food, you then crave healthy food.. and sometimes a pile of fried food and frozen pizza isn’t really appetizing. Here are some tips on how to eat healthy at a party:
- Eat a snack or meal before you go. If you know you’re going to be hungry, don’t wait until you get there and fill up on junk! I like to eat a yogurt or small piece of chicken before going somewhere.
- Pick the things you want to indulge in. Be mindful of your choices. If you really want to try a piece of cake.. try the piece of cake! But then maybe only have a little of all the desserts. You don’t have to go crazy!
- Bring a healthy dish. I’m usually the person that brings a veggie/cheese platter. Is it as delicious as buffalo chicken dip? No. But will people eat it? Yes! Sometimes it’s nice to have a vegetable in a sea of chips + dips
- Send the host this list of recipes. (Kidding! But… I mean.. not really? 🙂 )
All joking aside, I’m a believer in all things in moderation. So if I go to a party and choose eat allll the goods, than it just means the next day I’m back to my usually routine. Lots of veggies, protein + good carbs! We shouldn’t deprive ourselves, but I do think it’s nice to have options. So here are some of my favorite brunch recipes that are delicious AND healthy!
