Healthy Turkey Meatballs

Ingredients
  • 2 lbs ground turkey
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons of milk
  • 1 cup whole wheat bread crumbs
  • ⅓ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ¾ cup of finely chopped onion (I puree in a food processor with garlic and spices)
  • 2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh basil
  • 1 tablespoons oregano
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
  1. Spray a lined cookie sheet with olive oil. (Or use nonstick foil).
  2. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  3. Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl until thoroughly combined
  4. Roll into approximately 1.5 inch balls and place on cookie sheet.
  5. Bake the meatballs for 7-10 minutes, then flip and bake for another 7-10 minutes on the other side.
  6. Allow to cool + enjoy
  7. Gluten free option: Swap bread crumbs for almond flour
  8. Paleo option: omit cheese, swap bread crumbs for almond flour
