Friday Five 9.18

Ahhh the day I wait for all week – Friday! ๐Ÿ™‚ More like Fri-YAY. This week felt like it went on forever! I’m so looking forward to relaxing this weekend. Check out what I’ve been up to all week and see what the weekend has in store with this week’s Friday Five.

Closer to Free Ride

The highlight of my week (well technically last week) was participating in the Closer to Free Ride on Sunday. It was truly an amazing experience, and I already can’t wait to do it again next year. You can read more about the ride and my experience in my last post – How Biking 25 Miles Changed My Life. I encourage everyone to participate in an event like this… Raising money for an amazing charity AND getting in a workout? What’s better than that.

Siggi’s

When I was in college there was a really awesome natural foods store right near campus… I would go there a couple of times a week to get lunch, or just for a snack. I found Siggi’s there one day when I was looking for a quick snack, and I immediately fell in love. I had really only tried/repeatedly eaten the Vanilla one, which is reallyย good. This was the only place I had been able to find Siggi’s, until last week.. First I found them at my local Stop & Shop…and then a few days later I went to Whole Foods and they had EVERY flavor imaginable!! The Pumpkin Spice is amazing, and I can’t wait to try the Coconut and Pomegranate Passionfruit!

Turkey Meatballs

I forgot how much I love this recipe! I hadn’t had these meatballs in a while so Sunday night I whipped up a big batch of them. When I do make these.. I make A LOT.. I used around 3 lbs of turkey. Then I eat them throughout the week for breakfast (weird I know), lunch, dinner and snacks! They’re really yummy with sauce over zoodlesย or whole grain pasta. I just bought a Canon Rebel T5 Cameraย so I tested out my photography skills and took some new photos of the meatballs and updated our old blog post. I think they look pretty delish ๐Ÿ™‚ The meatballs are gluten free, and they can easily be made paleo if you don’t use Parmesan cheese! You can find the recipe here.

New Shoes

Going to Italy is pretty much my latest excuse for purchasing anything/everything. New camera… new purseportable phone chargers.. and now new shoes! I’ve been wanting sneakers that are likeย Keds, but I wasn’t looking to shell out $38 for white sneakers that are going to get worn all over and likely ruined. The other day I was super excited to find these sneakers at Target.. they were only $16 and they came in a bunch of colors! I got red, white and grey. They’re so cute and comfy!Capture1

Fall Activities

With Fall finally upon us.. I can hardly contain my excitement. I’m so ready for it to get colder! I’m hoping to go apple picking this weekend,ย whip up some healthy pumpkin recipes, and enjoy spending time outside.. whether it be biking, sitting by the fire pit, or lounging outside and finishing My Fight/ Your Fight by Ronda Rousey

Recipe’s on my list to try this weekend (Obviously from my fellow FitFluential friends ๐Ÿ™‚ )

No Bake Pumpkin Spice Latte Bites from Arman @ The Big Mans World

  1. I loved your post about your bike ride. Sounds like you had a nice week too, and the weekend sounds great. I’m solo with my kids this weekend, so I plan on taking them all to the gym with me. I’m not sure if I can handle bringing all three anywhere else, but we’ll see. Have a great weekend!

I saw those pumpkin spice latte balls on Arman’s page. They look delicious! Have you tried them out?

    • thecleaneatingcouple@gmail.com thecleaneatingcouple@gmail.com

You’re so welcome, Jessie! They’re so cute and comfy.. I think everyone needs a pair… or two ๐Ÿ™‚ I didn’t get around to making the pumpkin spice latte balls.. I came down with a cold over the weekend ๐Ÿ™ But I did try the pumpkin baked oatmeal from Deanna @ The Live Fit Girls… it was so delicious I had to make TWO batches! The first one disappeared in my house ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Kat Kat

Target is so good for those kinds of deals. I dont blame you for going there and getting those shoes instead of the name brand. Although I probably would’ve walked out with the shoes AND $100 worth of other stuff not on my list. Freaking Target.
And though I dont like her language that much, Rhonda is a freaking beast, and I love what she represents for women in today’s world. I love a strong chick!

So true Kat…I actually left with 2 dresses, a bag, and a cart full of snacks… It ALWAYS happens!! Ronda is AMAZING. Even with her language… she’s the definition of a strong woman!

  7. I adore Siggis! ๐Ÿ˜€ I haven’t had a chance to try out the pumpkin spice flavor yet, but hopefully soon! I need a Target near me so I can pick up a pair of those shoes.

And I gotta get my hands on that book! ๐Ÿ˜€ Ronda Rousey is such a badass! ๐Ÿ˜€

    • thecleaneatingcouple@gmail.com thecleaneatingcouple@gmail.com

You’ve gotta find the pumpkin & spice… i think it is their best flavor! You can order the shoes online too.. they were on sale the other day! And yes you NEED to read Ronda’s book.. it is so good!!
