This Healthy Baked French Fries Recipe is made with only four ingredients and is so easy to make! These healthy fries are gluten free, paleo and whole 30!
I must confess. I have a love affair with french fries. Or really any form of potatoes. Or actually any carb for that matter. Aren’t carbs just the best? Kidding, but not really. All joking aside, there’s seriously nothing better than a giant pile of fries. They’re crispy, salty, go well with just about anything, and they’re SO easy to make.
In my opinion, fries get a pretty bad reputation because of fast food. I think the commercialization of french fries makes everyone thing that they have to be unhealthy, when in reality – potatoes aren’t the enemy! I’m totally not recommending that we all hit up McDonald’s to get an extra-large fry. Obviously fast food companies have all kinds of preservatives and yucky add-ins. And naturally if you deep fry anything it kind of cancels out any nutritional value it might have, and ups the caloric/fat levels. But when you bake potatoes with heart healthy oils, and go light on the salt… they actually aren’t as bad as many people think.
Potatoes actually are high in fiber, and have a good about of nutrients in them including B6, potassium, and phosphorous! (More info about it here) And did I mention that they just taste really good? Try to convince me that you wouldn’t want to eat an entire plate of these. LOOK at how crispy they are!
I first tried baked french fries randomly, simply because I didn’t have time to wait for a baked potato to cook. I was getting hangry, and needed a side to go with dinner, so I figured I’d give them a shot. To say that I inhaled them as they came out of the oven would be an understatement. After that night, we’ve both been totally hooked. I make them as a side almost every time we have our Clean Eating Chicken Tenders for dinner. And yes.. in case you’re wondering chicken tenders + french fries are pretty much a weekly staple in our house. Don’t judge the fact that sometimes we want to eat like five-year olds… once you try these, I think you’ll find you love them just as much as we do.

Things we used for this recipe: french fry cutter, silpat baking liners, baking sheets, olive oil, sea salt, pepper
I do have to warn you though.. once you start eating these, you will become addicted. You start off by just trying one, and then you want another, and another.. and one more.. you get the picture. The reason these plates/trays look a little skimpy in the photos is because I was eating as I was taking the photos. No shame in my game.. these things are DELISH.
