Even though I love to cook, I know that most people don’t. I will admit, cooking can be messy or time-consuming, but more often than not- I enjoy it.
Cooking healthy meals can be very simple and fun if you have the right kitchen tools. I’ve put together a list of 9 of my favorite kitchen tools that are essential for a healthy chef.
These products are ones that I 100% can not live without and use multiple times a week (if not every day!) They make cooking my favorite healthy meals easier and quicker… check them out!
Food Processor (Under $20): One of the most time consuming parts of cooking is chopping. This food processor cuts that time down to SECONDS!
A food processor is necessary for any kitchen. The Black & Decker Chopper is a great cheap option (less than $20), but if you’re looking for something a little more fancy I also have a Cuisinart Mini-Prep Plus Food Processor. Both get the job done just fine 🙂

Crock pot (Under $40): If you don’t have a crock pot/slow cooker you need to get one… right now. I have had this Hamilton Beach Slow Cooker for years and I use it at least once a week.
Rather than slaving over a stove for hours, you can throw whatever you are preparing into the crock pot, set it, and go on with whatever you have to do.. whether it be going to work or running some errands.
If you hate wasting time in the kitchen and standing by the stove.. you need to get one!

ChopStir (Less than $10) – If you cook ground turkey, beef, chicken or sausage – you need this. No more splattering meat/oil all over the stove trying to break it apart with a wooden spoon.
This tool allows you to break up meat in small pieces so that it evenly cooks. Game. Changer!
Olive Oil Sprayer (Less than $20)– I use this EVERY day. Seriously. Best invention ever. You can refill it with your oil of choice and it cuts back on waste because you’re not constantly buying spray oils.
I’ve had mine for years – it is better than any other sprayer out there. DO NOT buy the Misto brand.. quite honestly, they suck and don’t work well.

Citrus Juicer (Less than $36) We LOVE our Pampered Chef citrus juicer. You can find knock offs for cheaper, but they don’t work as well – fair warning!) This makes juicing citrus for meals like pad thai or desserts like lemon blueberry bread quick and easy.
No more fishing out lemon seeds from whatever dish your making – it catches all the seeds and prevents that!
A little tip – if you microwave your citrus fruits for about 15-20 seconds (or until they get a little warm) you will get a lot more juice out of them, and they’ll be easier to squeeze.
The Best Kitchen Knife (Under $175) Ok, I know.. $175 for a kitchen knife SEEMS steep… but I swear this knife is worth every single penny. I use this knife for everything. All day, every day – this is my go to kitchen knife. (It can even cut through a spaghetti squash with EASE!)

It’s small enough to easily handle/control – but sharp enough to cut through literally ANYTHING. This is the only kitchen knife you need. Cutco knives have a lifetime guarantee – and if you find a local rep they’ll sharpen them whenever you need/want. I’ve had mine for over a year though and haven’t had to sharpen them yet!
Measuring Cups/Spoons (Less than $10) Every chef needs a good set of measuring cups. These collapsable measuring cups are great because they take up minimal space in your kitchen cabinets!
Silpat Baking Sheet (Less than $20) – I use these all the time for everything from baking cookies to making Healthy Chicken Tenders. They’re great because they’re non stick, and you’re not constantly wasting foil/parchment paper!

Spiralizer (Under $25) This Tri-Blade Spiralizer is hands down one of my favorite kitchen tools. If you are paleo, Whole30, gluten-free, low carb, like veggies, enjoy having fun with your food, or love to eat delicious meals (AKA any/every one).. you need this.
The spiralizer is awesome because it allows you to take veggies and turn them into pasta! It’s WAY easier to use than any of the handheld ones. I’ve had mine for almost 8 years now and it has held up great!
