TIPS FOR MAKING HEALTHY SOUP RECIPES:

Add more veggies! You can always sneak in more veggies to soups. I like to use my food processor to get the veggies in super small pieces, or add a couple cups of chopped greens at the end of cooking soup.

Use bone broth: Bone broth is an awesome way to amp up the protein and nutrients in your soup recipes

Always include celery, onions and carrots – These are the base of all great soup! They add flavor and are so yummy.

Use a parmesan cheese rind – This is such a simple thing you can do to amplify the flavor of your soup. I grab them at the grocery store. Simply remove them once you’re done cooking and you’re good to go!

Add pasta, zoodles and greens at the end. I rarely cook pasta/zoodles in soup. You’re better off to cook separately and then add to your bowl when you’re serving!

What is the healthiest soup you can eat? That depends on who you ask! Personally, I think any soup that is loaded with veggies + protein is healthy. Minestrone, Chicken Soup and Vegetable Soup are all great healthy options!

What soup is best for weight loss? Any soup that is low in calories and high in protein/veggies is going to be good for weight loss. We love our Minestrone Soup, Chicken Noodle Soup, or Vegetarian Chili. Everyone’s weight loss goals/diets are different so you may prefer different soups for weight loss

HOW TO STORE SOUP:

Refrigerator: Most soups will last 4 days in the refrigerator.

Freezing: We freeze soups all the time. We don’t recommend freezing soups with pasta in them because the pasta can get very mushy. We also don’t like to freeze soup with dairy in them only because the dairy/milk can separate when reheated.

Containers: These are our favorite glass containers. If you’re going to be freezing your soups we highly commend getting Souper Cubes. They’re so perfect for storing/freezing soups!

Reheating Soup:

Microwave: We usually reheat soups in the microwave for 1-2 minutes, stirring half way through.

Stovetop: You can also reheat soup on the stove. Heat in a pot over low heat for 2-3 minutes until warm.
