As of about 2 months ago, I’m obsessed with asparagus. I’ve always enjoyed it, but I wouldn’t say I loved it by any means… now, if you ask me.. I could easily eat an entire bowl of this Healthy Lemon Parmesan Roasted Asparagus for lunch… and I may have done just that after taking the photos for this recipe.
I’m pretty sure asparagus is one of those things that you either love or you hate, and there is no middle ground.
I’m in the camp of loving it… and my love of it/me making it multiple times/week for a side for dinner has put Tyler in the camp of 100% hating it. Oops!

There is a lot to love about this roasted asparagus recipe. It’s one of our favorite side dishes because it’s:
- Easy to make – You can put pretty much any spice mix and olive oil on asparagus and have a delicious side dish.
- Cooks SO easily – Usually, you only need an oven on high heat and 10-12 minutes in the oven to get perfectly roasted perfection!
- It’s Seasonal – which means when it’s in season, it’s super cheap + easy to find. What’s not to love about it?!
I’m biased and think this Healthy Lemon Parmesan Roasted Asparagus is the best way to make it, but honestly I’ve never made it a specific way and disliked it… It’s pretty hard to mess up!
If I’m feeling lazy I’ll spray it with some olive oil + toss it with this spice blend. But when I want something a little fancy, I turn to this Healthy Lemon Parmesan Roasted Asparagus!
It’s got light lemony flavor from lemon juice/zest, and then a kick of salty from the amazing parmesan cheese (We use Sartori, it’s the best!).
This Healthy Lemon Parmesan Roasted Asparagus is pretty much guaranteed to be a winner at dinner time in your house. Pair it with this Whole 30 Lemon Rosemary Crockpot Whole Chicken and some of these Crispy Garlic Thyme Roasted Sweet Potatoes and you have the PERFECT weeknight dinner!

To make this parmesan asparagus we used:
- asparagus
- lemon juice, lemon zest
- olive oil
- salt, pepper
- parmesan cheese
We also used a baking sheet, silpat baking liner, microplane zester, and citrus juicer.

- Line cleaned, trimmed asparagus on parchment lined baking sheet. Whisk lemon juice, zest, olive oil, salt, and pepper together.
- Brush asparagus with lemon mixture + sprinkle parmesan on top of asparagus.
- Bake at 400 for 12 minutes until asparagus is tender.


If you’re looking for the easiest way to make asparagus, this Healthy Lemon Parmesan Roasted Asparagus is it! Next time I make it, I’m definitely going to save it and chop/toss it with some pasta with some mushrooms, corn, and summer tomatoes. I think it would be SO yummy!
SUBSTITUTIONS FOR LEMON PARMESAN ASPARAGUS
Olive Oil: You can substitute avocado oil, butter, or ghee.
Lemon: I haven’t tried this wiht lime juice or zest but I think it would work.
Cheese: You can use mozzarella cheese in place of parmesan.
Asparagus: You can use brussels sprouts or broccoli in place of asparagus.

This asparagus goes well with so many things! Here is our favorite way to serve it:

Storing: This will last in the refrigerator for up to 4 days in an airtight container
Freezing: We don’t recommend freezing this recipe.
Reheating: You can reheat this recipe in the microwave, toaster oven, oven or on the stove.
