Ingredients
1tablespoonolive oil
1lbground turkey
1 ½cupsminced carrots
1cupminced celery
1cupminced onion
2tablespoonsminced garlic
56ozlow sodium crushed tomatoes(2 28 oz cans)
¼cupfinely chopped fresh basil
¼cupfinely chopped fresh parsley
1teaspoonblack pepper
½teaspoonsaltoptional
¼teaspoonred pepper flakes
Instructions
Crockpot Instructions:
In a pan over medium high heat, heat 1 tablespoon olive oil. Brown ground turkey for 5-7 minutes. When fully cooked, remove from the pan and set aside.
Add the carrots, celery, onion and garlic to the pan. Sauté until the onions are translucent, about 5 minutes.
Add the cooked ground turkey, vegetables, crushed tomatoes, basil, parsley, black pepper, salt, and red pepper flakes.
Stir together. Cook on low for 8-10 hours or high for 4-6 hours, stirring every hour.
Serve over your favorite pasta or zucchini noodles.

Stir to combine and simmer for 1 hour, uncovered, on medium- low heat, stirring every few minutes.
After 1 hour you can serve this sauce, but it’s best when simmered on low heat for 6-8 hours. This allows the flavors to come together and for the meat to be super tender.
Serve over your favorite pasta or zucchini noodles.
