Tips for Cooking a Chicken in the Crockpot
Recipe: Crockpot Whole Chicken
Toss the little bag that comes inside the chicken. You don’t need it.
Keep the seasoning on the chicken simple. I usually just spray the chicken with our olive oil sprayer, then add garlic powder, pepper, and dried parsley
Once the chicken has cooked, take it out of the crockpot and let it sit on a cutting board for 10 minutes to cool before shredding.
Grab a pair of food safe gloves if you don’t want greasy chicken hands.
Chop the chicken while you have a cutting board out! Use it for lemon chicken soup, or whatever you like. It’s great in our healthy chicken salad.
Tips for Crockpot Bone Broth:
Recipe: Crockpot Bone Broth
Leave all the drippings in the crockpot. Add all skins, scraps or any pieces of chicken that you don’t want to eat in the crockpot.
Boil water and add it to the crockpot to speed up cook time. This isn’t necessary, but will help the broth come to a boil quicker.
Strain the broth into a pot in a clean sink. It will splash, and that way you can rinse off the sink!
Strain through a big strainer first, then a finer strainer.
