Everyone knows how much we LOVE a good dip! My favorites have to be our Healthy Onion Dip, Healthy Buffalo Chicken Dip, and Healthy Spinach Artichoke Dip!

If you’ve never had 7 layer dip, it is basically a Mexican style dip with 7 delicious layers of cheese, beans, and veggies! Black beans and ground beef are loaded with protein, fiber, and healthy carbs, making them the perfect base for a healthy snack.

Not only is this dip so easy to make, but it’s also perfect for a party, tailgate, or holiday party.

There’s just something about a baked, warm, cheesy dip that is unmatched. This hot baked 7- Layer dip does not disappoint!

liz’s tips for baked 7 layer dip

  • While you could serve this dip cold, it’s so much better served warm!
  • Customize it! Choose your favorite layers and add-ons, like extra cheese, guacamole, or salsa, to make it perfect for your family or whoever is coming to your gathering!

Ingredients

Ingredients for baked 7 layer dip in white bowls: ground beef, taco seasoning, greek yogurt, neufchatel cream cheese, refined beans, corn, black olives, shredded cheddar cheese, pico de gallo

Substitutions

Cheese: You can use monterey jack or colby jack cheese in place of cheddar. Any shredded cheese will work. We recommend grating your own cheese as it melts much better!

Low fat cheese: I find that low fat cheese does not melt as well as regular cheeses, however they will work in this recipe if you prefer them. It may make the dip watery.

Greek Yogurt: We haven’t tested it, but I think you could substitute dairy free greek yogurt or sour cream in place of greek yogurt.

Ground Beef: We like 85/15 ground beef. Feel free to use leaner ground beef depending on what you like. Read Butcherbox Reviews to see why we love them for our ground beef! I haven’t tried making this with ground turkey or ground chicken but I think it would work.

Taco Seasoning: We love making homemade taco seasoning for the best flavor. It’s lower in salt and doesn’t have any funky ingredients! We like this brand of taco seasoning if you don’t want to make your own.

Pico de Gallo: You could also try a layer of salsa or fresh tomatoes.

To make vegetarian: You can use cooked lentils or ground beef substitute however, you’ll need to adjust your cooking time. You also could check out our Vegetarian Buffalo Dip or Healthy Easy Bean Dip instead.

This dip was so good! My husband is loving that I’m using this website. So far everything I’ve made from the clean eating couple has been great! Using Greek yogurt instead of sour cream is awesome. We couldn’t taste the difference at all!
