SUBSTITUTIONS FOR BAKED FETA
Olive Oil: You can substitute avocado oil, butter, or ghee.
Feta: I have not tried this recipe with fat free feta. I don’t think it would work very well as the fat is what makes this creamy. I haven’t tried this with burrata, but I think it would work well. You shouldn’t substitute with cream cheese!
Garlic: Sub fresh garlic with 1 teaspoon garlic powder.
Cherry Tomatoes: We really love how cherry tomatoes cook in this recipe. However, you may be able to use roma, heirloom, plum tomatoes, or any type of fresh tomato in this recipe. Just make sure to chop it into small pieces.
Hot Honey: You can omit the honey if you prefer, but we really recommend it as it totally changes the dish!
Toppings for this Feta Dip Recipe
This Feta Dip is delicious as written with the hot honey topping, but would also be delicious topped with red pepper flakes for a spicy kick or fresh chopped basil or herbs of your choice.

Feta Cheese FAQ
Feta and cream cheese are very different. You shouldn’t substitute feta for cream cheese. Cream cheese typically has a higher fat content and is much smoother, while feta is a little bit grittier. They can’t be used interchangeably.
Yes, you can melt feta cheese, but it is not as creamy as other cheeses like mozzarella, parmesan, or cheddar cheese. Feta cheese does melt, but not as well as other cheeses. This dip is supposed to be a little crumbly.

What do you think about using sun dried tomatoes instead of fresh tomatoes?
The Clean Eating Couple says
I think they might get a little too chewy and hard in the oven
