What is Daily Harvest?
For those of you that don’t know, Daily Harvest delivers farm-frozen, superfood based, pre-portioned, no-cook recipes, like smoothies, soups, and Harvest Bowls right to your door.
Everything they deliver is plant based, nutritious and has minimal ingredients. Daily Harvest boxes arrive on dry ice so you can just pop the convenient cups in your freezer + defrost as needed.
One of the most commonly asked questions I get when I post about the service is: Is Daily Harvest worth it? And do you have a Daily Harvest promo code?

I took the time to do a little research and tackle that question for you. Before we get into that though – I do want to tell you that I have an exclusive Daily Harvest promo code.

Daily Harvest Pros:
Here is my honest daily harvest reviews:
- Taste: I believe healthy food should taste GOOD… and all of Daily Harvest’s products are simply delicious.
- Simplicity: All of Daily Harvest’s cups are extremely easy to prepare. With the smoothies, the only thing you need to do is add milk + blend. For overnight oats.. soak in milk overnight + heat in the morning. Bowls/soups – add water and heat. It really doesn’t get any easier!!
- Convenience: Daily Harvest arrives with all of the cups frozen + on dry ice. You just have to place them in the freezer + enjoy at your convenience.
- Good Ingredients: Daily Harvest’s products are made with only a few simple Ingredients, most of which I’d cook with myself!
You’re definitely paying mostly for convenience in my opinion when it comes to Daily Harvest, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing – I’m totally cool with that from time to time!
Daily Harvest Cons:
Clearly I’m into Daily Harvest, but one thing I want to caveat is that I typically only order the smoothies, lattes and overnight oats from Daily Harvest.
- Low in protein: I also prefer to have more protein with my meals, and often find myself adding chicken or turkey to these meals, which kind of defeats the purpose of the convenience.
- A lot of packaging: I really try hard to not create a lot of waste. Even though the packaging is recycling it is still cardboard that has to get recycled every delivery!
- Subscription Model: I wish you could just purchase one off from Daily Harvest, but it’s also very easy to move your subscription date around!
I encourage you to give all of the different types of cups a try though and see what option makes sense for you! Which brings me to my next point.. Daily Harvest has looooots of options.

Daily Harvest Price
Here’s the breakdown on Daily Harvest Prices:
Daily Harvest Cost for Boxes
- 9 cups, $7.87/cup | $70.91 per week ($45.91 for your first order with my coupon code)
- 14 cups, $7.75/cup |$108.86 per week ($78.86 for your first order with my coupon code)
- 24 cups, $7.65/cup |$183.76 per week ($143.76 for your first order with my coupon code)
How much does Daily Harvest Cost per week? The cheapest option for Daily Harvest per week is just under $71. I don’t think you need to do weekly deliveries, I would probably do monthly!
You can get up to $65 off your first box when you use this link or code CLEANEATING. Get $30 off 9 items, $40 off 14 items, or $65 off 24 items.
Daily Harvest isn’t cheap. But… neither are good quality fruits, veggies, and supplements in general.
I truly believe you get what you pay for, while I don’t use Daily Harvest products everyday, when I do make them – I enjoy them and love how convenient they are to me.
Sometimes I only have 2 minutes before I have to run out the door, or I don’t want to spend time cooking another meal. Despite what seems like a high price tag… I think it’s worth it.
Daily Harvest options:
With the Weekly or Monthly Box, you are able to build a custom box so you get to choose what’s inside or you can select to fill it with their best selling products.
- 9 & 14 Cup Boxes automatically bills weekly
- 24 Cup Box automatically bills monthly
You can get all my favorite Daily Harvest picks in my custom box here!
I think the best option here when starting it to go for the 9 cup box. You can try a few of of the smoothies, lattes, and bowls to get a good feel of all the different products.
If after a few days you realize it’s not for you… just cancel your subscription! If you wind up loving Daily Harvest, I’d definitely do the Monthly option.. it’s the best price per cup.
What Comes In A Daily Harvest Box:
Daily Harvest has a number of different options with their cups including smoothies, harvest bowls, soups, lattes, overnight oats, chia parfaits.
Best Daily Harvest Smoothies:
Cacao + Avocado smoothie is absolutely my favorite. (It tastes like a chocolate milkshake!) I also love:
- Carrot + Chia
- Strawberry Peach
- Mint + Cacao
- PassionFruit + Pineapple
I usually fill my Daily Harvest Box with smoothies. I think they have great, unique ingredients for the price and love the convenience they offer me for days when I don’t have anything in the fridge and need a quick meal replacement.
How to make a smoothie from Daily Harvest
- Fill your daily harvest cup to the top with milk or liquid of choice. I always use almond milk, but any milk will work.
- Pour into a blender and blend until smoothie
- I always add egg white protein powder and collagen for protein and extra spinach for more veggies!

So is Daily Harvest Worth It?
Personally, I think Daily Harvest is totally worth the money. Between the convenience, amazing quality, and fair price – it seems like a no brainer to me!
I usually only order smoothies, lattes, and chia parfaits simply because I think those have the most value to me. I find that the harvest bowls/soups aren’t necessarily filling for me or a fit for my diet (because they have legumes).
Overall, I think that Daily Harvest is a great service, and love the convenience it offers me! As a reminder – if you want to try Daily Harvest you can use this Daily Harvest promo code : CLEANEATING to sign up and get up to $65 off your first order!

Daily Harvest Latte Reviews
I LOVE the Daily Harvest Lattes. They make me feel like I’m drinking a fancy coffee shop latte from the convenience of my own home.
They take about 2 minutes to make, and are really delicious. My favorite is the chaga + chocolate (I like to add espresso to it) but I also love the ginger + turmeric.
Something to note with the lattes, in each cup you get 3 individual single serving pods. So you’re really getting 3 drinks out of one cup. (Ginger Turmeric and Chaga Chocolate pictured below)

Daily Harvest Overnight Oat Reviews
So far the only Daily Harvest overnight oats that I’ve tried are the Mulberry + Dragon Fruit. It was really tasty, and super simple to make.
You just need to add almond milk the night before you want to enjoy them, shake it up + heat in the morning!
Overnight oats are very simple to make on your own (like with this recipe) so I don’t regularly add these to my subscription.
Instead I opt for things I can’t make at home as easily like the smoothies/lattes.
Daily Harvest Bites Review
I really like the Daily Harvest Energy Bites! They have 6 different flavors and come 7 bites per cup. My favorite were the Banana + Cacao and Raspberry + Fig. These are great if you like something sweet, they’re more of a dessert for me than a snack!

Daily Harvest Chia Parfaits Review
I was pleasantly surprised by the chia parfaits. I have made chia pudding on my own but didn’t really like it. The Chocolate Protein + Banana (pictured above with the berries on it) was really yummy and filling.
I divided it in half and had it for breakfast for two days. I haven’t tried the other flavor but I’m looking forward to trying it soon!
Daily Harvest Scoops Review
I was super impressed with the Daily Harvest Scoops! They’re healthier, plant based ‘ice cream’ made from real food ingredients.
The scoops come in 5 different flavors: Salted Caramel, MintChip, Midnight Fudge, Black Sesame and Berry Compote. They’re all really rich and delicious. My favorites are the midnight fudge and berry!

Daily Harvest Harvest Bowls Review
The Cauliflower Rice + Pesto is my favorite harvest bowl, although I truthfully haven’t tried many of the harvest bowls.
Legumes don’t really agree with my stomach very well, and many of the harvest bowls have legumes. I also find that the harvest bowls aren’t very filling on their own. I prefer adding chicken to them, and I feel like it defeats the purpose of the convenience.
Daily Harvest Soups Review
I love the Tomato + Zucchini Minestrone Soup. It’s full of flavor + so yummy! However, similar to the harvest bowls – I find that their soups aren’t very filling for me.
I really like hearty soups packed with protein, and while I love that these are veggie loaded – they don’t fill me up for a complete meal.
Daily Harvest Packaging:
Daily Harvest arrives in a cardboard box with an insulated cooler bag. The cups are on dry ice and stay frozen in transit.

When you get your Daily Harvest box – simply pop into the freezer + use whenever you’re ready!
Is it easy to cancel Daily Harvest?
Yes! It’s super easy. You have the option to cancel, skip, or pause your subscription with just the click of a button.

How long does Daily Harvest Last?
Each of the Daily Harvest cups have a use-by date on the bottom of the cup. Most of them last 3 months, although we usually eat them before then!
Everything is totally frozen though, so you don’t have to worry about the veggies going bad like you would with fresh!
Is Daily Harvest Really good for you?
I think so! All of Daily Harvest’s cups are made with REAL food ingredients. No weird funky preservatives or things you have to google to find out what they are.
It’s hard to find convenient food that doesn’t skimp on quality!
Daily Harvest also freezes their fruits/veggies at peak freshness – which is nutritionally beneficial!

Is daily harvest good for weight loss?
Daily Harvest isn’t designed for weight loss, it’s made to help people it more plant based in a convenient way.
I’m sure you could lose weight eating/drinking their products – but if that is your main goal you’ll need to watch your portions/calorie intake. Many of Daily Harvest’s products are higher in carbs and lower in protein.
If weight/fat loss is your goal, opt for your meals to have high protein first, lots of veggies and some healthy carbs and fat. You can easily make Daily Harvest smoothies and bowls weight loss friendly by adding protein to them. I like to add protein powder to my smoothie and extra greens.
I add shredded chicken to my harvest bowls and soups.
You can get up to $65 off your first box when you use this link or code CLEANEATING. Get $30 off 9 items, $40 off 14 items, or $65 off 24 items.
Is Daily Harvest Organic?
98% of the ingredients that Daily Harvest uses are organic, which I love!
Daily Harvest vs Smoothie Box
Price: Smoothie Box wins. Daily Harvest cups range from $6.99 at the cheapest to $7.99 at the highest. Smoothie Box is only $6/smoothie.
Variety: Daily Harvest wins. DH has much more variety that Smoothie Box.
Nutritional Value: Smoothie Box wins here for me. I love that they have the collagen packets for the smoothies. I normally add my own to Daily Harvest because their smoothies (while delicious!) are lacking in protein.
Taste: Tie! Everything I’ve tried from both companies is delicious.

Thanks for the in-depth review. I’ve been on the fence but I just might make the leap.
Joe says
This was really helpful to read! I’ve been debating subscribing to daily harvest and now I definitely am going to do it! All of these look awesome!
Rachael says
Do you feel full eating one of their smoothies for your breakfast?
The Clean Eating Couple says
Hi Rachael – I often will add a scoop of protein powder to them to help make them more filling. Personally, I need a lot of protein to feel full and these are slightly lacking in terms of protein (which is an easy fix with just by adding protein powder!)
Joan says
Thank you for your review. I read through their site and it appears the big white cups are actually 2 servings. You can find it in the Daily Harvest site under Nutritional Info at the bottom of each menu item. No one who reviews this product seems to mention that. So the To Go cup option is relative to how you handle the 2nd portion in the cup. Or red only to the smaller single serving cups. If you eat both servings in the big white cup – hey that’s ok! But it does mean double the carbs and calories, which could be a lot, depending on your goals.
The Clean Eating Couple says
Hi Joan – Yes, all of the cups are 2 servings. However, the servings are very small, and in terms of calories/nutrition- it’s definitely not enough for a meal in my opinion. I always eat the entire cup (except with the lattes – those have 3 individual pods so you get 3 lattes out of them!)
Seth Deignan says
how do you prepare the lattes? i just made my first one and it didn’t look anything like yours, and at the bottom it was all thin i and weird. i used mine right from the delivery box so it was a little thawed, i microwaved it with coconut milk for two minutes and stirred. any ideas on how to get more of a latte consistency?
The Clean Eating Couple says
Hi Seth – I usually heat the pod in the stove with homemade cashew milk. I whisk it together and usually add some collagen peptides to it. Whisking it will help make it a little frothier like a latte.
Mary Bregar says
Would Daily Harvest work well for type II diabetes and weight loss diet?
Thank you
Mary
The Clean Eating Couple says
Hi Mary – I’m not sure if this would be good for diabetes/weight loss. I would talk to a registered dietitian to see if it would be a fit. I’m not a medical professional so I can’t give advice unfortunately!
Shreya says
how much is one serving size exactly?
The Clean Eating Couple says
Each cup has 2 servings in it. The lattes come with 3 individually wrapped pods.
kkh369 says
You keep saying each cup has “2 servings in it”…what a “serving” is varies greatly! How many ounces are the smoothies? And from what I see? A bowl of loaded oatmeal for 7 bucks or more is OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive. I have read several reviews, and NOT ONE mentions how many ounces these make. Heck, their own website doesn’t even mention how large the servings are! (Which seems awfully suspicious)
The Clean Eating Couple says
Hi! All of the cups, other than the latte’s are 2 servings. The serving sizes are all clearly listed on their website down to the grams under the Nutrition Facts. Obviously serving sizes vary in oz from oatmeal to smoothie to harvest bowl, etc – but it’s all listed on their site. I divide up the cups, whether it’s an oatmeal, or a smoothie, and get the 2 separate servings out of it. One serving, according to the nutrition facts, fills me up. So it’s $7 for one cup, with 2 servings, making it $3.50/serving. Can you make a smoothie or oatmeal on your own for less than $3.50? Probably! But you’re paying for convenience. IDK about where you live, but where we are from it would be difficult to buy a smoothie for less than $3.50… they’re very expensive at cafes/gyms.
Yoni Mayeri says
Where can I find the nutritional breakdown of the ingredients? I’m particularly interested in the amount of sugar grams in one of the fruit smoothies. I realize that it will be higher based on which type of milk/liquid you add.
The Clean Eating Couple says
Hi Yoni – Go to the Daily Harvest site and click the top left ‘Browse’ and then click on whatever category. when you scroll down you’ll see ‘Nutritional Info’ and it says all the info there. To your point – whatever you add will alter the nutritional info!
Theresa says
How large of a blender do you need to make the smoothies? For daily harvest?
The Clean Eating Couple says
Any blender will work. We make them in our Nutribullet or Vitamix. You don’t need a large blender!
Kim says
Love it so much and I’ve lost weight too!
The Clean Eating Couple says
So glad you like it, Kim!
Anne Renteria says
Do they offer gift certificates? I would like to gift my son and daughter in law as they just had a baby. I thought it would be easy, healthy options for them.. I don’t see anywhere on the Daily Harvest website an option to send a gift. Any suggestions?
The Clean Eating Couple says
Hi Anne – If you click here and look at the top left, there is a section that says ‘gifts’. Hope this helps!
Lewis Thompson says
Will you please send me a menu of all the Daily Harvest products available?
I have developed a food allergy Alpha–Gal which is making my life more complicated. I can eat only meats from animals that fly or swim, NO 4 legged animals with hooves meats. Any help is most appreciated with your products understanding the situation. THANKS, I will send you my address when you respond, thanks again.
The Clean Eating Couple says
Daily Harvest is completely vegan so there is no meat in their products. You can view a menu by clicking on this link
