This Healthy Honey Mint Lemonade has quickly become one of my favorite summer drinks. It’s just the perfect combo of sweet from the honey, refreshing from the mint, and zippy from the fresh lemons.
Up until a few months ago, I couldn’t even tell you how long it’s been since I’ve had a glass of lemonade…Maybe 5 or 6 years? Maybe longer. In general, juice isn’t something we normally buy because it’s loooooaded with sugar.
I feel like lemonade, in particular, has even more sugar than most juices (the average lemonade has 35G-45G of sugar in a 12 oz serving).. and it also has a weird flavor when you buy it pre-made/bottled.
This lemonade is sweetened with only honey, and you can even add less honey to control the sweetness further, plus there are NO added dyes in this lemonade.
Since I was already being all fancy by making lemonade from scratch, I figured I might as well go all the way and jazz it up by adding mint. Lemon and mint are one of my favorite combinations.
The Healthy Honey Mint Lemonade is refreshing on its own, but also a great base for cocktails; just muddle in some cucumbers and vodka with it (Check out this Cucumber Lemonade Vodka Cocktail for that recipe!)
liz’s top tip for honey mint lemonade
- Be sure to stir the honey into the water while it’s still hot. This helps it dissolve completely (no honey clumps at the bottom of your glass) and ensures the sweetness is evenly distributed throughout your lemonade.

Ingredients
- honey
- fresh lemon juice
- fresh mint leaves
- cold water
- muddler
- citrus juicer
- pitcher
Substitutions
Add ins: You can also add in sliced strawberries or cucumbers for extra flavor.
Honey: I haven’t tried making this with maple syrup, but it may work. I would start with less than 1/2 cup of maple syrup and add to your taste as maple syrup can be sweeter! You could also use a Honey Syrup.
More Mint: If you like more mint in your lemonade, check out this Mint Lemonade Recipe!

Wow this was so easy and the best lemonade I have ever had! So fresh and the perfect amount of sweetness. It takes about 6 medium sized lemons squeezed for 1 cup lemon juice.
