Even when it’s hot out, I still find myself craving these in the afternoon. I’m pretty sure it’s solely a placebo effect, but I feel like this latte does boost my energy… I usually have one around 3 PM when that afternoon slump kicks in and it perks me right up.

SUBSTITUTIONS FOR TURMERIC LATTE

Fresh Ginger & Turmeric: I haven’t tried making this recipe with dried ginger or turmeric. I would try maybe doing 1/4 teaspoon of each but I’m not sure how it will taste

Cinnamon: Cinnamon is optional but recommended. Read our post Is Thrive Market Worth It to find out why we love their service for spices!

Dates: You can also sweeten this recipe with honey or maple syrup. Try 1/4 teaspoon and add more to taste.

Almond Milk: You can make this with regular dairy milk, coconut milk or other non-dairy milks.

Black Pepper: Black Pepper is highly recommended. A compound in pepper helps with curcumin absorption from the turmeric

Collagen Peptides: Collagen is totally optional and not necessary!

Just made this for the first time. Wow, so good!! Tastes like a barista drink! I didn’t have any fresh turmeric on hand so used 1/2 tsp ground turmeric and it turned out great. Will have this on a regular rotation, thank you!

Used this recipe to make a turmeric latte for the first time and loved it!! I was happy Liz uses fresh turmeric and fresh ginger instead of powdered – I feel like there’s more nutrients to be had from the fresh stuff! Plus I had had both in the freezer for so long and finally was able to use them. Anyways it was great! Very warm and spicy (in a good way). I added a little more cinnamon than was called for but super goof! 100% would make again!
