SUBSTITUTIONS FOR TURMERIC LATTE
Fresh Ginger & Turmeric: I haven’t tried making this recipe with dried ginger or turmeric. I would try maybe doing 1/4 teaspoon of each but I’m not sure how it will taste
Cinnamon: Cinnamon is optional but recommended
Dates: You can also sweeten this recipe with honey or maple syrup. Try 1/4 teaspoon and add more to taste.
Almond Milk: You can make this with regular dairy milk, coconut milk or other non-dairy milks.
Black Pepper: Black Pepper is highly recommended. A compound in pepper helps with curcumin absorption from the turmeric
Collagen Peptides: Collagen is totally optional and not necessary!

This Whole30 Turmeric Ginger Latte is sooo much more than a cozy (and Instagram-able) drink. It’s actually super good for you! Here’s why:
Benefits of Turmeric Latte
Anti-inflammatory- Both turmeric and ginger have been found to have anti-inflammatory properties. While inflammation can be a good thing because it helps us fight off germs and infections.. at the same time, chronic low grade inflammation can lead to brain fog, pain, and has even been linked to possible diseases. Whenever you can eat or drink anti-inflammatory foods, it’s a good thing!
Could help prevent illnesses There has been tons of research showing links that curcumin, a compound of turmeric, can help to lower your risk of heart disease, prevent cancer and Alzheimer’s disease, and lower the symptoms of arthritis.
Ginger – Ginger can help with muscle pain and soreness, and is great for indigestion and even menstrual pain!
For more about turmeric you can read this article, and this article is great for all the benefits of ginger.

Used this recipe to make a turmeric latte for the first time and loved it!! I was happy Liz uses fresh turmeric and fresh ginger instead of powdered – I feel like there’s more nutrients to be had from the fresh stuff! Plus I had had both in the freezer for so long and finally was able to use them. Anyways it was great! Very warm and spicy (in a good way). I added a little more cinnamon than was called for but super goof! 100% would make again!
