SUBSTITUTIONS FOR BASIL DRESSING
Olive Oil: You can use avocado oil in place of extra virgin olive oil. We don’t recommend using canola or other oils for dressings.
White Wine Vinegar: We strongly recommend using white wine vinegar. We haven’t tried this recipe with champagne vinegar or red wine vinegar but I think it would work. Red wine vinegar has a much more acidic taste.
Basil: Fresh basil is essential to this dressing. We don’t recommend using dried basil. We haven’t tried this with fresh parsley, but I’m sure it would work!
Honey: You can substitute maple syrup for honey. You can also omit the honey, but it does give a nice sweetness to the dressing that balances out the acidity.
Low Sodium Blue Cheese Dressing: Blue cheese is naturally high in salt. There is no added salt in this recipe, but it’s not a low sodium recipe
