  • Use fresh basil!! This dressing just won’t taste the same with dried herbs. If you have extra fresh basil, try it in this Strawberry Vinaigrette.

You’ll also need a blender or food processor. Our favorite blender is the Nutribullet. It’s under $50 and works amazing! Here’s a link to the one we have.

Substitutions

Olive Oil: You can use avocado oil in place of extra virgin olive oil. We don’t recommend using canola or other oils for dressings.

White Wine Vinegar: We strongly recommend using white wine vinegar. We haven’t tried this recipe with champagne vinegar or red wine vinegar but I think it would work. Red wine vinegar has a much more acidic taste.

Basil: Fresh basil is essential to this dressing. We don’t recommend using dried basil. We haven’t tried this with other fresh herbs, but I’m sure parsley would work!

Honey: You can substitute maple syrup for honey. You can also omit the honey, but it does give a nice sweetness to the dressing that balances out the acidity.
